This is a high quality female socket kit. The socket is marine grade and is weather and UV resistant with cap to seal socket interior and boot to cover wire terminals. The contacts are nickel plated over brass and the body is a heavy gauge nylon but is light in weight. The socket is vibration resistant, unlike less expensive versions. It requires an 1 1/8" hole for mounting and has .250 quick male spade connectors. It can be mounted against a panel with the retaining nut on panels to 1-1/4" thick or for a thicker panel with the compression plate. Rated at 12 volts can handle loads to 15 amps. Weight 1 oz. Draws no power when not in use, so it can't run down your battery.
Works with any standard cigarette lighter plug or lockable marine plug as shown. Note, a lockable plug is not included in this auction. Check our other auction if you need a locking plug or right angle mounts. A locking plug looks like a regular male lighter plug but when twisted in this socket can not be pulled out easily, unless twisted again.
