This switch has a built in relay that allows this key switch to operate 30 amp loads. It is prewired and the interface is four wire- two wire are 12 VDC and two wires are the normally open contacts. To operate: connect 12V to the switch. When the key switch is in the off position the contacts are open. When the switch is in the on position the contacts are closed. The switch draws no power when in the off position.
