This is a high quality female socket kit The socket is marine grade and is weather and UV resistant. The cap seals the front of the socket Rubber mounting washer make the assembly vibration resistant and more waterproof. The body is heavy gauge for strength and light weight. The contacts are nickel plated over brass. The socket is vibration resistant. It requires an 1 1/8" hole for mounting and has .250 quick male spade type quick connectors. Rated for 15 amps at 12 volts up to 20 amps peak. Weight 1oz. This socket draws no power when not in use so it can't run your battery down.
It can be mounted in two ways, against a panel with the retaining nut for panel thickness up to 1-1/4" or for a thicker panel with the compression plate.
Works with any standard cigarette lighter plug or lockable marine plug. Check my other auction if you need a locking plug. A locking plug looks like a regular male lighter plug but when twisted in this socket can not be pulled out easily, unless twisted again.
