The socket has a nylon body and metal core with snap on vinyl cap, rubber terminal boot and a rubber mounting washer. The plug comes with a rubber weather skirt that allows the plug to socket connection to stay dry when used outdoors.
The lighter socket which has a heavy nylon UV resistant body and a nickel plated core. A vinyl opening cap inserts into the core and snaps over the socket rim to produce a waterproof seal. The socket works with all pop out style lighter plugs or with standard accessory plugs. Internal prongs hold the plug for better vibration resistance. The rubber mounting washer acts as a locking washer or can seal the socket mount. The terminals are male 0.250 or 6 mm style crimp terminals. The terminal connector boot protects the connections from weather. The socket mounts into a 1-1/8" hole. It is rated a 20 amps at 12 volts. Two ways to mount this socket. It can be mounted against a panel that is up to 1-1/2" thick by using the socket nut supplied. The nut tightens on the socket body to secure the socket to the panel. Or it can be mounted to even thicker panels by using the compression plate with two screws. The plate goes over the front of the socket flange and the two screw press the socket up against the panel from the front.
The plug is fused and has a red LED active power indicator light. The contacts are extra heavy plated and nickel plated brass. Your wires attach to the plug via solder pads. Use 16 or 14 gauge wire
