This socket is extensively used throughout Europe for 12 volt portable accessories. It main advantages are that it is smaller than a normal 12 volt lighter style socket but has the same power rating. Also the socket with matching plug snap together to provide an anti-vibration proof connection. The standard 12 volt lighter socket to plug connection uses a friction fit that can vibrate out of connection in mobile applications. Includes Waterproof fuse holder and 15 amp fuse plus two female crimp terminal to ease in installation.
This listing is for one (1) weatherproof socket with a tight fitting open vinyl cap, inline waterproof fuse holder and two female crimp style connectors for installation convenience. The socket has brass and beryllium copper contacts with standard 0.250 spade type terminals in a heavy plastic HDPE body. The socket mounts in a 18 mm or 3/4" (0.75") hole. The length of the socket is 1.5" from the inside flange face to the tip of the male terminals. The maximum panel depth thickness is 1/2". The socket is rated for 15 amps at 12 volts DC. The socket weight is 0.7 oz
The fuse holder is has 10" wire loop made out of 16 gauge ( awg ) tined wire leads and waterproof vinyl fuse compartment with a 15 amp fuse.
